ESOL Employability

10 week course

This course aims to improve language skills and understanding of the requirements, attributes and personal qualities potential employers look for when recruiting their staff

The course will cover:

  • Improving communication skills – speaking, listening, reading, writing
  • Identifying personal strengths and what you need to improve
  • Developing learners vocabulary in respect of job roles and duties
  • Identifying what jobs are open to each learner
  • Recognising your personal qualities and transferable skills
  • Compare and contrast the differences between jobs in the UK and your country
  • Identifying different job titles and their duties
  • Demonstrating reading and understanding of job abbreviations in advertisements
  • Role playing interviews
  • Preparing/updating a CV
  • How to apply for work – including voluntary roles
  • Preparing for an interview
