10 week course

This course is designed with the self -development of the students in mind. A means to assist in their everyday lives, it addresses barriers to progression and assesses levels of assertiveness and how this affects a person’s view of their capabilities. It aims to create a heightened state of awareness which will assist in making informed choices

The course will cover:

How to create a short term action plan

Discuss issues of support

Understanding barriers to, and benefits of, Mindfulness

How top control emotions, reactions and responses

Building resilience

Introduce concepts of fixed and growth mind-sets

Look at innate emotions and self awareness

Identifying self-esteem and compare to levels of confidence

Emotional Intelligence and consequences of lacking it

Self-disciple – what it means and why it’s necessary

Being assertive not aggresive

Qualifications and employment pathways in this field
